Comments about the web site: Howdy, I found this page because you E-Mailed reference Shipmates from HMCS Sioux. The 2 pictures of the Sioux are great. You were a bit ahead of me in Cornwallis as I was in Canada Division Feb-July 1954. I was on the Sioux when it went around to Halifax and we Commissioned the Margaree II and brought it back to Esquimalt. Im with you, the Sioux was the greatest ship on the west coast. Good website, you have done a lot of work but what else is there for us old guys. About finding shipmates, I have looked in all the guest books without much luck. I had an answer from Bob Lindal but his E-Mail does not work. Good sailing. Floyd Dick White Rock BC

Comments about the web site: Great page, brings back a lot of pleasant memories. I joined the RCN in 1961 and served in Skeena Division in HMCS Cornwallis. I distinctly remember parade drill and being called a "sausage" on many occassion by our drill master. I then served on my first ship and guess what? It was the Sioux. I was a signalman and spent many an hour on the bridge with CDR Tony Law. I enjoyed many hours at sea and the memories of those days were great. I also served on HMCS Saguenay, HMSC Crescent, HMCS Restigouche and HMCS Shelburne (land station, not by choice. I often wonder what became of the many great shipmates I met if anyone remembers me please email.

Comments about the web site: Tom, I think your web site is great. You mentioned you were looking for a Joe Cain. The Joe Cain I know lives here in Victoria BC. The Joe Cain I know was a Radar Plotter the same as me. We first met on the Ontario in 1957. Joe got out after that and returned to Toronto ON. That didn't last long because he rejoined the navy a year later. Later we were both sent on our RP3s course in Halifax(1964 to Dec.1965.) This was a 1 year course because we were the first to receive technical training in the repair and overhaul of Radar and Navigational equipment. Joe had an accident driving back to Vancouver Island. He had a flat tire close to Dryden ON. During the time he was changing the tire another car ran into him while he was bending over in his trunk. It broke his legs. One had to be amputated just below the knee. Joe served on the Provider after that and retired in the 70s. If you think this is the same Joe Cain let me know and I will put you in touch with him.
