I served from Feb 1951 to Feb 1956

I would like to add my info to the wingers listing, but I didn't see where to enter that.

In the pic of the "divisions in Cornwallis" I was likely one of the drummers in the front line of the band.

You have the most interesting site I have found on Internet to date. I served from 1951 to 56 and only the picture from the parade ground in Cornwallis hit me like a brick. I was there on that date and I'm sure I'm somewere

on the ground. Again congratulations and keep up the great work you have performed and I hope it is very rewarding for you.

I have a similar history to your own in that I was a Sea Cadet from '57 to '60 and joined the R.A.N. in November '60. Paid off in 1972.

I served in company with Canadian ships from time to time and remember a visit from 3 of your ships to Sydney in the 60's sometime. Can't remember the names of the ships, but sank a few cold ones with a few of you. Good memories.

We have a site at www.gunplot.org if anyone is interested in the navy in this part of the world.

Went to Belfast Northern Ireland for a long period and comissioned HMCS Magnificent. We travelled quit a bit from Wakeham Bay Labrador to Panama etc. I was aboard when the Maggie ran aground in Port Mouton after a very rough crossing of the Atlantic. We had to spend 3 months in St-John's dry dock for repairs. I would have much more to tell but the space is short. I have a full album of photos showing the flight deck etc. I'm now 75 and in good health! Hope to hear from someone who sailed with me then! Later on I founded with some old seamen HMCS Radisson and was the Commanding Officer for 4 years in Trois-Rivières, Qc. The best to all of you!

However the end is in sight, 17 Oct O$ will be 40 years and 3 days. Great site and I will be back again and again.
